Emma Cons Garden

Nature’s Feast in the City

Location: Waterloo, London

Client: Bourne Capital on behalf of the Emma Cons Garden Steering Group

Year: 2021

Site Area: 900 m2

A familiar and busy public space in Waterloo, the Emma Cons Garden sits directly opposite The Old Vic Theatre, is part of an interface with Lower Marsh, The Cut and diagonally opposite The Waterloo Millennium Green.

Proposed for improvements as part of the upcoming redevelopment of the Waterloo Estate to the north, a competition to find a Landscape Architect to undertake concept design was undertaken. Shortlisted, our proposal examined a Vision for an inspiring, resilient, and sustainable space for the local community: Nature’s Feast in the City. The project will be a place where people and nature come together in a comfortable space, delightfully rich in wildlife, activity, and integrated water management. Moreover, a catalyst in the continuing regeneration of the local area.
